How our sizes work
Sizing.
Sizes across Nigerian producers and foreign imports don't always line up. A “size M” from an Aba workshop fits slightly different from a “size M” from a UK importer. We list the tag size plus the measurements that matter.
What we tell you
- Tag size — what the label says (S / M / 38 / UK 10 / W28 etc).
- Fit notes— how it runs relative to standard sizing. e.g. “tagged M, cuts closer to a modern S.”
- Flaws or oddities — slightly short sleeves, a cropped hem, a roomy cut — called out in the description.
- Classification badge— every card says THRIFT (Nigerian-made, affordable) or FOREIGN (imported, often new with tags) so you know what you're getting.
Ask before you buy
If you're unsure, DM @specialthriftph with the lot number and we'll measure the piece — pit-to-pit, length, shoulder, whatever you need. Same-day reply, always before you check out.
Shoes
Shoe sizes are the number printed on the insole. If the insole is worn away, we'll say so and give you the inside length in cm. UK vs EU vs US conversion varies by brand — don't rely on a generic conversion chart, ask us.
